Preparation:

  1. Bring 1 litre of water to a rapid boil. Add salt to taste.
  2. Add Spaghetti to boiling water, stirring occasionally.
  3. Cook, uncovered for 6 to 7 minutes or until desired tenderness is reached.
  4. Drain well and serve.

Unlike traditional pasta, Sport Pasta is:

  • Higher in fibre than traditional pasta with 10 grams of fibre per serving
  • Higher in protein than traditional pasta with 18 grams of protein per serving
  • Low in fat and sugar, and cholesterol and sodium free
  • Gut friendly
  • An artisanal quad blend: it includes 4 protein sources of Durum wheat semolina, Red lentil flour, White quinoa flour, White bean flour. The use of legumes in our pasta allows the carbs to be slow releasing and doesn’t create an insulin spike.

We worked with longtime NHL Strength and Conditioning coach Andy O’Brien to create Sport Pasta. Andy worked with researchers who specialized in starches, insulin sensitivity, and health & wellness – as he was interested in creating a pasta for athletes that could be consumed on game day and provide them with the right complex carbs to help them perform. Right now, there are no pastas on the market that are built for athletes and their performance in their sport. We wanted to create a pasta that was ideal for performers – this included slow releasing carbs but high protein and fibre content to allow the carbs to work better.
